Thieves target Lagoon Drive home in break-in

The suspects made off with takkies, perfume, a Hi-Fi system and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A GANG of thieves who broke into a Lagoon Drive home on Saturday about 6am stole several items from the home while the homeowner was asleep.

Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen said: “It’s unlcear how the suspects gained entrance into the home but the suspects stole a number of items while the homeowner was asleep. The suspects made off with takkies, perfume, a Hi-Fi and an undisclosed amount of cash. It’s unclear how many men were involved in the break-in,” said van Reenen.

Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS confirmed a case of housebreaking was opened following the incident.

The incident follows a string of arrests both in the Greenwood Park and Durban North policing precincts.

Just last week, a housebreaking suspect was arrested on Rinaldo Road.

According to Greenwood Park police, the suspect was found in possession of several stolen items including power and hand tools.
