THE Department of Health together with the eThekwini Municipality will be embarking on a campaign to screen and test residents of Ward 36 who may have been exposed to the coronavirus.

Acting ward councillor for the area, Shontel de Boer, said she had been informed that a loud hailer will be used to inform residents that health care workers will be visiting them to conduct a screening.

“There has been no communication given just yet on how exactly the campaign will be rolled out however the community caregivers assisting in this campaign will have some form of identification on them and will be in uniform. I’d just like to give residents in the area a heads up that this will be ongoing as a way to combat the pandemic. This is a countrywide initiative so more areas are likely to be included,” she said.
