Northwood School says fond farewell to teacher

In honour of Mark Rich, the school named a garden after him which was also unveiled last Friday.

NORTHWOOD School teacher, Mark Rich retired on Friday last week after 20 years at the school, and after a teaching career of 35 years.

In honour of Rich, the school named a garden after him which was also unveiled last Friday.

Northwood School principal, Paul Viljoen paid tribute to Rich and thanked him for his service to the school.

“In Mr Mark Rich, Northwood has had a great teacher in their midst for a long time. Starting his teaching career in 1985 and joining Northwood in 2000, Mr Rich has served our boys, staff, community and education in a very special way during the last 35 years. Many boys have benefited from Mr Rich’s wisdom, influence and support over the years and have this gentleman to thank for their achievements and successes in their lives.

“As a deputy principal, acting principal and educational manager, Mr Rich has had a tremendous impact on staff, fellow educators and visitors, and has been an incredible representative of all that is good about not only education but also about people,” he said.
