ER Consulting Inc Restructures Fees at Emergency Care Units
Leading emergency centre service management, ER Consulting Inc, has announced that they have restructured emergency fees at Umhlanga Netcare Hospital. The new standardised fees came into effect on 1 December 2019. The fee restructuring will see a significant reduction in emergency room costs in the KZN hospital unit.
“The holiday season may be costly, and the sad reality of life is that what can happen will happen and that includes the unforeseen visit to the emergency rooms. As ER Consulting, we understand the rising cost of living and we firmly believe that health care should be affordable to all. The restructuring of our costs does not affect the quality of our services but will ensure fees will be the same across the group in all our ERC managed emergency units”, says Dr Steven Holt, Managing Director and founding shareholder of ER Consulting.
The new system is based on the South African Medical Association guidelines for medical coding in emergency units. The new pricing will see a reduction in cost for many patients, both private and medical aid. The fees will also be effected nationally from 1 January 2020.
