Armed men rob Sunningdale family in complex

The incident occurred at about  11.30pm at a complex on Round the Green.

DURBAN North SAPS are searching for two armed men involved in an armed robbery of a Sunningdale home on Round the Green on Thursday night.

According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about  11.30pm.

“The family were asleep at the time when the men armed with a knife and a handgun forced their way into their house. The suspects rounded up the family and domestic worker and put them in one room. They then ransacked the house. They then loaded the items in the homeowner’s vehicle, a white BMW, and forced him to drive them out of the complex with his vehicle.

“Once outside the complex a silver cab bakkie with NJ number plates approached and the suspects loaded the items into the cab. The homeowner was then ordered to drive back inside the complex. The suspects made off with various items including jewellery, cell phones, cash, a tablet and a TV,” he said.

Doekaran confirmed no arrests had yet been made.
