Suspect arrested on M4 for robbing estate agent

The male suspect was found in possession of a replica firearm and items stolen from the estate agent.

A SUSPECT wanted in connection with a kidnapping, assault and theft of motor vehicle case was arrested on Monday evening on the M4 Ruth First Highway (near eMdloti).

The arrest was as a result of a joint operation between Marshall Security, NAVIC, Umhlali SAPS K9 and the Tongaat CPF.

According to Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell, the suspect posed as a potential client for a real estate agent in the Ballito area, arranging to view a property.

“Once alone with the agent, the suspect attacked the female agent assaulting her before robbing her of her belongings and making off with her motor vehicle, a Toyota Tazz. The stolen vehicle was fitted with a tracking device monitored by Tracker SA and the Marshall Security Special Operations Team was activated to track the vehicle.

“With the assistance of other role players, the vehicle was spotted travelling on the M4 Ruth First Highway near eMdloti where it was brought to a stop. The male suspect was found in possession of the estate agent’s belongings as well as a replica firearm,” he said.
