One injured in Somerset Park crash

The collision occurred at approximately 10pm on Thursday.

THE eThekwini Fire and Emergency Services used the Jaws of Life to free a driver who was entrapped in the wreckage of a serious motor vehicle collision on Umhlanga Rocks Drive at around 10pm on Thursday.

Crisis Medical paramedics attended to the scene said their spokesperson, Kyle Van Reenen.

“The driver allegedly lost control and crashed into a street light before coming to a rest against a tree. The driver was the only occupant found entrapped. Ethekwini Fire and Emergency Services used the Jaws of Life to cut him free. He suffered moderate injuries,” said Van Reenen.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
