Dig deep for Project Dog at Christmas market

This year the Christmas market will raise funds for Project Dog.

FOR the past eight years, a Christmas fundraiser, in aid of animal rescue organisations has been held in Durban North. This year is no different, as local resident, Denzil Burmester is raising funds for Project Dog.

The organisation, run by Quicha Morgado is a registered non-profit that is managed by a small and dedicated group of people who are passionate about animals.

Burmester said she could not have chosen a more deserving organisation.

“In the past we’ve twice before raised funds for Project Dog, but every year with the Christmas market I rotate between Persian Cat Rescue, Feeding the Furballs and Feral Cat Rescue Trust and this year I thought we’d support Quicha for her amazing work. A portion of the sales on the day will go towards the organisation.

“The Durban North community has been fantastic in their support of us and we love giving back. I’m hoping to see as many feet through the door on that Saturday to help support Project Dog. It’s also a way for us to raise awareness for what Quicha does,” Burmester said.

The Christmas Market fundraiser takes place on Saturday, 30 November from 8am to 5pm at the Spade Design Centre, 185 Lothian Road. There will be a variety of vendors on the day. For more information visit the centre’s Facebook page. There will be a variety of vendors and a number of raffles on the day.
