Hijacker arrested in Parkhill

The incident occurred in Parkhill at the corner of Orange Grove and Chris Hani Road.

THREE men who tried to hijack a motorist last night remain at large. According to Kyle Van Reenen from Marshall Security the incident occurred just before 8pm.

“At approximately 7.50pm, while on a routine patrol in the Parkhill area, a Marshall Security armed reaction officer noticed four suspects attempting to hijack a minibus taxi at the corner of Orange Grove and Chris Hani Road,” he said

The officer, with the assistance of the SAPS, managed to apprehend one suspect armed with a handgun. “His three accomplices fled on foot towards a nearby informal settlement,” added Van Reenen.

A search was conducted however the suspects remain at large.
