WATCH: Annual uMhlanga Summer Festival launched today

The festival takes place from 14 to 23 December with plenty of fun activities for the whole family.

THE annual uMhlanga Summer Festival was launched with an electic carnival atmosphere at the Umhlanga Sands this morning.

The festival takes place from 14 to 23 December with plenty of fun activities for the whole family. Carols under the Stars takes place at Granada Square on Thursday, 19 December and the Miss and Mr uMhlanga pageant takes place on Saturday, 21 November at noon with prizes valued at R18000 up for grabs. This year there is only one age group, 16 years and older.

The festival aims to highlight the natural beauty spots in uMhlanga. While many of the events are free of charge, the community is encouraged to bring a gift suitable to donate to an underprivileged child for Christmas.

Award winning dancer, Kevin Ellis will lead the daily activities along with designer, Gareth Greaves.
