Suspects linked to various robberies arrested in Durban North

The trio are facing charges for being in possession of suspected stolen property and illegal possession of ammunition

THE three suspects arrested on Waterkant Road last week have been remanded in custody while police investigations continue.

An intelligence driven operation between Marshall Security and Durban North police flagged the vehicle as being linked to a hijacking case in Lenasia and numerous cases of robbery with a firearm across Durban.

According to Brigadier Jay Naicker, provincial SAPS spokesman, three men aged between 23 and 40 were placed under arrest.

“During a search police seized ammunition and toy guns that were found in the suspects possession. Preliminary investigations uncovered that the vehicle was stolen at Gauteng last month,” he said.

Durban North spokesman, Capt Raymond Deokaran, said police had also linked the suspects to various robberies across Durban.

“The trio are facing charges for being in possession of suspected stolen property and illegal possession of ammunition,” he said.
