WATCH: Truck ploughs through Mount Edgecombe parking lot

Several vehicles were damaged after the truck ploughed through the parking lot.

A TRUCK and trailer ploughed through a Mount Edgecombe mall parking lot at approximately  6.45pm yesterday.

In a Facebook post, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said they received multiple calls from the public reporting the accident.

“Several vehicles were extensively damaged after a truck and trailer ploughed through the parking lot of Flanders Mall in Mount Edgecombe this evening (Thursday). It is alleged that the truck was travelling north on the M41 when the driver failed to negotiate a bend. The vehicle drove through a metal barrier, travelled down an embankment before it crashed into a wall and ploughed through the mall parking lot crushing several vehicles before it came to a stop,” read the post.

According to RUSA, Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, SAPS and Metro Police were on the scene and no serious injuries were reported.
