Pedestrian robbed at knife point in uMhlanga

According to Durban North SAPS there has been a number of incidents targeting pedestrians across North Durban.

DURBAN North Police are investigating a case of robbery after a pedestrian was robbed of his cell phone on Equinox Drive in uMhlanga on Saturday evening.

According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station, the incident occurred at about 7pm.

“The victim was approached by two men, one of whom produced a knife. They threatened him and demanded he hand over his valuables. They made off with his mobile router and cell phone and fled on foot,” he said.

According to Deokaran, there has been a number of incidents scattered across the policing precinct where pedestrians have been targeted.

“The robbers normally target lone pedestrians late at night or in the early hours of the morning. We are urging pedestrians, residents and visitors, where possible, to walk in groups,” he said.
