Local environmental organisations, including #CleanBlueLagoon and Waste Action Tribe will be hosting various clean ups, each taking charge of a certain area.

KZN co-ordinator for the clean up is founder of Waste Action Tribe, Lindsay Hopkins.

“This is a quality, not quantity clean up, recording what is collected is crucial. We do this once a year. Companies are encouraged to visit the website and register for the clean up as we will need to ensure that each cleaner has a form to fill in. The form will record what items are picked up and this will go into the big national data base for research purposes,” said Hopkins.
