Gang arrested following Durban North attempted robbery

The suspects are believed to be linked to a spate of robbery cases in the Durban North area.

FOUR suspects were arrested on Wednesday afternoon after robbing a man in Pembroke Road.

According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the incident occurred shortly after midday.

“The suspects, who were traveling in a Toyota Etios, allegedly stopped next to the victim before spraying him in the face with pepper spray and attempting to steal his cell phone.

“The victim managed to escape to a place of safety and alert authorities. A short while later the suspect’s vehicle was spotted travelling on Bailey Road in Avoca. With the assistance of the South African Police Services, the vehicle was brought to a stop,” he said.

The four men were positively identified by the victim once police and security personnel had arrested the men.

Van Reenen added the suspects were believed to be linked to a spate of robbery cases in the Durban North area.
