Elderly resident assaulted in Parkhill robbery

The suspects tied the homeowner up in the incident which took place just after 1.30pm.

AN elderly Parkhill resident was assaulted in a house robbery on Tuesday. According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the incident occurred at about 1.30pm on Lancaster Grove.

“It is alleged two suspects, posing as municipal workers, came into the property under the pretense of reading the electricity meter. Once inside the property, the suspects assaulted the elderly female homeowner, before tying her hands and confining her to a bedroom. The suspects ransacked her home before making off with a cellphone and various other undisclosed items.

“The victim sustained moderate injuries and was treated and stabilised on scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital. Greenwood Park SAPS were on scene and a case has been opened,” he said.

It is unclear what vehicle the suspects used in the robbery.
