Durban North chiropractor angered over repeat damage to wall

Dr Greg Forder said the latest incident which took place more than a week ago has caused more than R35 000 worth of damage.

A DURBAN North chiropractor is at his wit’s end following yet another accident that took out the wall of his practice. Dr Greg Forder said the latest incident which took place more than a week ago has caused more than R35 000 worth of damage.

According to Forder, the walls of his practice have been on the frontline for the last few years with more than six accidents damaging different sections.

“This is the second time in recent months. In October last year a young driver crashed into the wall causing extensive damage. Then last weekend I received a call from one of the neighbours to my business saying there had been an accident. I had no idea how bad the damage was until I saw the photos. It was horrific.

“The driver had actually taken out a portion of the wall and destroyed my practice’s sign. I intend to open a malicious damages to property case after this accident because I haven’t been contacted by the driver involved which I think is highly discourteous,” he said.

Forder said the high rate of accidents was due to the realignment of the lead-off to Tyne Place.

“My business shares a boundary wall on Kenneth Kaunda Road (Northway) and Tyne Place. The City changed the road and incorporated the old lead-off into a fast food outlet and moved the lead off to where it is presently. There’s been times that I’ve pulled guys out of their vehicles after they’ve crashed into my wall. I’m at my wit’s end. I feel the City have created this problem and they need to find a solution to fix this or else accidents will continue to happen,” he said.
