UKZN warns of scam targeting students

The scammers claim that students have been accepted to study at UKZN to improve their university admission points.

THE University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) has warned students and parents about scammers posing as its staff.

UKZN said there are unauthorised, false and misleading messages bearing the university’s name doing rounds in various communication channels. The messages claim that students have been accepted to study at UKZN to improve their university admission points.

“The university does not offer this service. We only enroll students who applied to study towards our prestigious academic programmes provided that they meet all the minimum requirements. This also depends on the availability of space for each academic programme,” said the university.

UKZN went on to say these messages seek to mislead the general public by peddling false information about our admission process.

“We urge you to please ignore messages from bogus sources,” said UKZN.
