Suspect arrested in uMhlanga for alleged theft

The suspect was handed over to the Durban North SAPS.

A MAN was arrested on Sunday after he was found in possession of a number of tools, believed to have been stolen. It is believed the suspect may be linked to the theft of metal pieces stolen off Millennium Bridge. According to Grant Frost, of Excellerate Services, two suspects were first spotted on Saturday evening attempting to steal metal pieces off the famous bridge.

“The suspects had stolen some pieces of metal from the bridge and our control room spotted the suspects on our CCTV footage. A vehicle was sent out to the scene where a search of the area resulted in the discovery of a bag full of clothing and metal parts from the bridge. Our offices monitored the area over the next few hours and their persistence was rewarded.
