Dig in and help Durban North Rotary Club

THE Durban North Rotary Club has urged the community to continue supporting their weekend boerewors fundraisers. Last year, the club began a fresh new start outside La Lucia Mall.

“The north Durban community have an incredible spirit and heart and they’ve supported us amazingly since our move. The move to La Lucia was facilitated by mall management, Food Lover’s Market and ward councillor, Pete Graham. All the funds raised through the boerewors rolls sales go towards various projects we are involved in,” she explained.

Some of the projects funded by the initiative include the renovations at the Khabazela Township Crèche (located across the N2 in Durban North) as well as the North Bay lodge in Durban North, which cares for mentally disabled people.

“We’ve managed to paint the creche at Khabazela Village and plant a few trees. We now plan on putting a fence around the creche to allow the children to utilise the garden safely without walking out on to the road.
“It has always been important for the Rotary Club to be hands-on in our fundraisers,” she said.
