Aspiring author appeals for publishing help

After two years, the aspiring author has completed his motivational book titled, Recognition of The Baby In You.

FOR most people failing their matric is a huge setback, and for most bouncing back is even harder. But for 22-year-old Sphelele Mayise it was a different case as he says failing his matric exam in 2014, is possibly one of the worst yet the best things to ever happen to him.

While waiting to write his supplementary exams in 2015, the Rosehill resident landed himself a job as a waiter to make ends meet. Unfortunately for Mayise, his shy and quiet personality kept on causing trouble for him with customers perceiving him as ‘the moody non-engaging waiter.’

After writing his supplementary exams, while waiting to further his studies, he said he realised that his dream was to be a published author. Which seemed to be an impossible challenge, especially after failing his matric.

With no end goal, Mayise said,”One day I just decided to start writing about my journey. From the world’s expectations of me, to my downfall and to realising that my dreams are still worth reaching even after a minor setback.”

After two years, the aspiring author has completed his motivational book titled, Recognition of The Baby In You.

“The book is basically a motivational book aimed at re-instilling hope in people who feel like minor failures are the end of their lives,” he said.

However Mayise is now faced with another setback. “After completing my book I shopped around for publishers but due to financial constraints, securing a deal with one has been impossible. I strongly believe that the tale of my journey will somehow change someone else’s life,” he said.

With these words Mayise is urging anyone with book publishing skills to help advise him on how he can get his book published.
