Morkel magic gives Heat final game honours

The victory was only the third for the Heat in this year's campaign leaving them bottom of the log.

A BRILLIANT unbeaten 57 from 28 balls from Durban Heat captain Albie Morkel handed his side an exciting two wicket victory over the Tshwane Spartans in their final Mzansi Super League match at SuperSport Park on Wednesday last week.

In some final over drama, Kyle Abbott was caught on a no ball with two runs to get off just two deliveries.

The no ball from Aldred Hawkin was followed up with the single that gave the Heat their second win over the Spartans this season.

The victory was only the third for the Heat in this year’s campaign leaving them bottom of the log, two points behind the Spartans.

In their final match of the campaign, the Heat lost the toss and were asked to bowl first.

AB de Villiers top scored with 93 for the Spartans with them posting 188 for 6 in 20 overs.

In their chase, Heinrich Klaasen, Albie Morkel and Sarel Erwee all made contributions in chasing down the score with one ball to spare.
