Revamped Suncoast unveiled at grand launch

More than 1800 workers helped in the construction of the new Suncoast.

THE R1.6 billion revamped Suncoast was unveiled last night. Guests packed the Suncoast Globe, the new events arena able to host 2 200 people. The entire revamp process took 24 months with the popular entertainment venue increasing in floor space of 48 012m² – the equivalent of five rugby fields.

Suncoast was constructed 16 years ago by Tsogo Sun Gaming and at last night’s event the group, which has over 100 hotels in South Africa, Seychelles and the Middle East, pulled out all the stops for a spectacular unmasking of this hugely popular Durban venue. The Globe, is located against the backdrop of the Moses Mabhida Stadium, and is adaptable for any event or function.
