The Virginia Preparatory School learner, said her goal now was to be selected for the SA team.

GLENASHLEY resident, Yenzo Dladla is hoping to build on her success in various sporting disciplines and hopes to one day represent her country. The 11-year-old was recently selected for the Tennis South Africa U12 squad.

The Virginia Preparatory School learner, said her goal now was to be selected for the SA team.

“My dream has always been to represent South Africa and although they haven’t chosen the team just yet I’m hopeful of fulfilling it. I feel my tennis has improved immensely in the last few years and I want to be able to make everyone proud at whatever tournament I’m part of,” she said.

While most of her time is spent training and practicing on her tennis skills, Dladla has also had success in other sports.

Earlier this year she helped the KZN U12 hockey (outdoor) team win gold in Bethlehem at the inter-provincial tournament.

Dladla also made the U13 KZN cricket team and will be competing at the inter-provincial tournament in Pretoria later this month.

Her tennis coach, Howard Saul said he was thrilled with her SA Squad placement.

“This is a huge honour and a great achievement, she has done consistently well in each tournament she has entered over the past few years,” he said.
