City intensifies fight against fraud and corruption

As this week, 12 -17 November, marks International Fraud Awareness week, the City will be hosting a seminar aimed at creating a platform for engagement on fraud and corruption.

THE eThekwini municipality said it’s going to do everything in it’s power to strengthen the fight against corruption.  As this week, 12 to 17 November, marks International Fraud Awareness week, the City will be hosting a seminar aimed at creating a platform for engagement on fraud and corruption.

The seminar which is hosted in partnership with the Association for Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is also aimed at encouraging all role players to elevate good governance.

“South Africa is one of the countries in the global south unceasingly bleeding billions as a result of this unrelenting scourge. This happens at the expense of millions of poor people still waiting for a better life. EThekwini wants to leave an indelible mark in the world’s endeavour to fight fraud and corruption by seizing an opportunity of sharing ideas with an array of experts due to attend this noble gathering,”the City said in a statement.

The seminar will be held at the Durban Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 13 November. It will start at 8.30am.
