Glenhills home robbed by armed duo
The armed suspects tied up the domestic worker during the armed home invasion.
A GLENHILLS domestic worker was lucky to escape injury in an armed robbery on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at around 10am on Elderberry Drive.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the domestic worker was outside doing laundry when two suspects entered the property and held her up at knife point.
“It appears that the suspects jumped over a wall to gain entry onto the property where they held her up at knife-point before tying her up and pushing her into a bathroom. The suspects ransacked the house and fled with an LCD television, jewellery and takkies,” Mathios said.

“The domestic worker stayed in the bathroom for about two hours and only came out when she heard the door banging at around noon. She managed to untie herself and press the panic alarm,” Mathios said.
He said the domestic worker was not injured during the incident. Greenwood Park SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
Mathios advised homeowners to ensure that the perimeters of their properties are adequately secured with an early warning intruder detection system such as an electric fence linked to the house alarm and an anti-gate crashing detector.
