In the latest incident, the suspect targeted a car stopped at the traffic lights. He then smashed the passenger window and snatched the victim’s handbag with contents to the value of R8 000.

Police spokesperson Capt Raymond Deokaran urged residents to keep their valuables out of sight when parked or at traffic lights.

“Hide your valuables. Car floors, dashboards and seats are not good places to leave items,” he said.
