La Lucia home robbed by armed gang

The suspects tied up the homeowner and placed a duvet cover his head during the robbery.

DURBAN North SAPS are searching for an armed gang who robbed a home on Shelbourne Avenue in La Lucia on Friday morning. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 5.45am.

“The suspects held the resident up as he went outside to smoke a cigarette. The suspects then tied up the homeowner, binding his legs and hands. They also placed a duvet cover over his head before ransacking the house.

“The suspects also asked the homeowner to show them how to reverse his vehicle and open his main gate. They then loaded the stolen goods into the homeowner’s vehicle and drove off,” he said.

According to Blue Security’s community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, the vehicle was later recovered in Inanda.
