School and organisation join forces to aid homeless dogs

Northwood pledged to collect for the NPO’s blanket drive for KZN Valley Dogs.

A LOCAL organisation said it can never thank Northwood School enough for their help. The school recently collaborated with Animal Assistance Association (AAA) to aid homeless dogs in rural areas. The boys pledged to collect for the Association’s blanket drive for KZN Valley Dogs.

The AAA which was founded in 2016, is a non-profit organisation (NPO) with the aim to uplift animal welfare organisations, through various fundraising initiatives to assist them in continuing their work. It has been able to raise between R5 000 and R7 000 for a selected charity every quarter.

“On behalf of the Animal Assistance Association, I would like to thank Northwood School for their support and assistance in helping our organisation to collect blankets and food for the KZN Valley dogs. We are grateful to have such a wonderful school behind our drive,” said AAA’s Cara Chiocchetti.

The Association said it hopes that more people lend them a helping hand in caring for ‘four-legged friends’ in the community.

Through their marketing manager, Jenni-lyn Van Niekerk the school said, “Northwood are proud supporters of this great initiative. We would like to thank the community for their involvement.”
