ETHEKWINI Metro Police have warned job seekers not to bribe officials in order to get jobs in the force. Metro Police called on all unemployed youth to try their luck joining the traffic police service as they are looking to recruit 400 new officers.
The recruitment which started on Friday, 24 August will run until Friday, 7 September at the Metro Police training college in Pinetown Lahee Park. Metro Police spokesperson Sergeant Parboo Sewpersadh has warned recruits against breaking the law in the name of looking for jobs.
“We already have cases of people attempting to bribe officials to get in. We urge the public to refrain from such. If you want to be a public servant you need to be an honest and trustworthy person, getting involved in bribery actually limits your chances of getting in,” he said.
To qualify you applicants must be over 18, a South African resident, have no criminal record and have a valid driver’s licence. Should the recruit have any tattoos, they should not be visible when wearing training kit (shorts an vest).
The recruitment runs on the days mentioned above from 9am to 2pm. However there is an exception for Friday 9 September where it will runly only until 12 midday.
Recruits are urged to bring certified copies of their :
*Matric certificate
*drivers licence
*ID copy
*CV
*Must be physically fit
*All copies must be certified
