Jaws of Life used in N2 accident scene

Two people were injured in the accident.

TWO people, including a woman who is eight-months pregnant, were injured in an accident on the N2 (southbound) just after midday on Monday. The accident scene was located just before the KwaMashu off-ramp.

According to Shawn Herbst of Netcare 911, one of the passengers was entrapped in the wreckage of a car.

“Reports from the scene indicate that two adults, a woman in her 30s who is also eight months pregnant, and a man believed to be in his 50s sustained moderate injuries in the collision. One of the passengers was mechanically entrapped and the Fire and Rescue Services used the Jaws of Life to free the patient.

“The patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital. The cause of the investigation is subject to an investigation,” he said.
