New leadership for Northlands

Northlands Primary School has appointed a new deputy principal and principal.

NORTHLANDS Primary School recently announced its new principal, Alistair Naidu. The local resident who was appointed in June had worked at Durban Prep High School for seventeen and a half years.

He started off at DPHS as a Grade 5 teacher and also served as the senior primary head of department.

Naidu, who has a higher diploma and education as well as BCom degree (majoring in industrial and organisation psychology) said he was honoured to lead the school.

“The welcome I’ve received from the staff and board has been fantastic. Our visions are aligned in that we all want Northlands to be the leading primary school in the Durban North and great Durban area. The school has so much potential and is blessed with the facilities and infrastructure to achieve those goals. It’s an honour and a privilege to serve as principal of the school,” he said.

The school also recently appointed a new deputy principal in the form of Anthony Hoyer.

Hoyer, who was previously at Westville Boys’ High School said he hoped to inspire the younger learners at the school.

“It has been a drastic change coming from a high school to a primary school, however I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead. I’ve been warmly welcomed by the staff, parents and learners here. My passion is people and helping the younger generation succeed and I’m looking forward to working alongside Mr Naidu,” he said.
