Fundraiser is custom made for #LiveLikeAndy

All proceeds of this event will go towards Ithemba Lethu, an NPO that helps vulnerable children.

THE number of people whose lives he touced before and after his passing is testament to Andy Carrie’s character. Carrie, a photographer, blogger and YouTuber, was tragically killed last year after being knocked by an alleged drunk driver in Berea.

Now three of Carrie’s friends, Gary Bezuidenhout, Troy O’Sullivan and Matthew Baldi are hosting a fundraiser in memory of the Mount Edgecombe resident.

The #LiveLikeAndy Charity Event, takes place on Saturday, 28 July and all funds raised from the event will go towards NPO, Ithemba Lethu, home for vulnerable babies and children.

Bezuidenhout, who owns Mallaz Customs, a local customisation shop in Durban will be doing a complete restoration of Andy’s bike and raffling it off at the event.

“We will be going all out on this bike build and event to bring people together to #LiveLikeAndy, with awesome music from some of Durban’s best artists. This is a family friendly event so bring everyone for a day of celebrating and loving life, all for a good cause and the chance to win your very own Cafe Racer,” said Bezuidenhout.

“We wanted to finish it like how Andy wanted it done. I’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone for the awesome support and contributions. It’s amazing to see how many lives he touched,” he said.

O’Sullivan said this event was perfect as Carrie was passionate about children.

“This event is to celebrate the life of a fallen friend, brother and son, Andy Carrie who was a great influence in his community and always lived life to the fullest. As Andy loved kids, his family thought it would be fitting to donate all the event proceeds to iThemba Lethu house,” O’Sullivan said.
