IMPORTANT NOTICE: Durban North power cuts

The eThekwini Municipality will be doing routine maintenance for a few hours and has urged residents to take note of the cuts.

IF you live in certain sections of Durban North and Red Hill beware of power cuts taking place today, Thursday, 5 July. The eThekwini Municipality will be doing routine maintenance for a few hours and has urged residents to take note of the cuts.

“The areas will be without power from 8am until 4pm. The areas are part of Churchill and Highlands Roads in the Red Hill area, Durban North and Khokhoba Circle in Quarry Height,” the city said in a statement.

Two weeks ago parts of the country were without power when power utility Eskom once again started load shedding. The move which led to widespread condemnation from South Africans was attributed to constraints in their power system after the utility’s workers downed tools.

The City has apologised to residents who will be affected by today’s power outages.
