Police warn parents following local rape

The boy lured the girl to an area away from the crowd where he molested her.

POLICE have urged parents to be extra careful with their children, especially in public places. This after a  17-year-old boy raped a five year-old girl at Umngeni Bird Park.

It’s alleged the 17 year-old was part of a school holiday volunteer programme at the park.

“The boy lured the girl to an out of bounds area where he molested her. Another girl saw what was happening and ran to call for help. Police were called to the scene where the boy was arrested,” said police spokesperson Thulani Zwane.
