Motorists and residents from various communities have raised concerns regarding the visibility of Metro Police officers on the roads. Two weeks ago KwaMashu Metro police captain Edward Ntuli said they will do all they can to increase visibility of officers on the roads. This after disgruntled Broadway business owners said there was a lack of enforcement in the vicinity to ensure the regulation of taxis.

Applicants who met the requirements had to undergo a physical assessment which comprised of a 2,4km run, push up, sit ups, and shuttle runs to test their physical fitness. Applicants were eliminated at each phase of the fitness test if they did not meet the requirements. Applicants who passed the fitness test then wrote an aptitude test and were interviewed.
