#SelfieDay: How to up your selfie game

The Northglen News has compiled some tips to help you celebrate International Selfie Day.

SELFIES. Social media is filled with these self-taken portraits.

And while some people seem to be naturals at taking great selfies for their profile photo, others just cannot seem to master the art of the selfie.

So, in honour of International Selfie day, which is commemorated on 21 June, the Northglen News has compiled some tips to improve your selfie skills.

  • Kim Kardashian-West, who is infamously known as the queen of selfies, suggests that you embrace natural light.
  • Find your flattering angle – generally tilting down slightly is universally flattering. But play around and find what works for you.
  • Take your selfies in the morning. When your make-up and hair are fresh.

  • American model, Ashley Graham suggests that you tilt your phone and not your head.
  • Hold your phone high.
  • Spruce up your selfie with props.
  • Use a decent camera. Your selfie game is only as strong as your camera’s quality.
