Police seek help in solving murders

The 17-year-old victim had been whipped.

GREENWOOD Park police have appealed to members of the public who may have information on suspects who killed two people in the Quarry Heights area. On Saturday night two men aged 30 and 17 years old, were murdered in the area.

In one incident, the victim was stabbed at Quarry Heights. He was then transported to KwaMashu Poly Clinic where he died.  On the same night in a separate incident, a 17-year-old victim was assaulted and died in Ijuba Aly in Khabazela Village not far away from Quarry Heights.

Spokesperson for the station, Sergeant Vincent Mthembu said the 17-year-old victim was unknown.

“When we arrived on scene community members were surrounding the victim. Upon investigation we found that the victim had whip marks all over his body. We also learned that he was unknown to the community,” said Mthembu.

Mthembu concluded by urging community members with information to come forward.

“No arrests have been made at this stage but we urge members of the community to come forward with any information which may lead to arresting the perpetrators. If you have information, you can call Greenwood Park SAPS on 031 5716512/3/4 or crime stop 0860010111,” he said.
