RTMC releases figures on top 5 Easter traffic offences
Over 4000 drivers were issued warnings for speeding.

MORE than 4000 drivers were issued speeding notices over the Easter weekend.
In a statement, the Road Traffic Management Corporation said in this past weekend, 4 153 drivers were issued warnings for speeding.

“Preliminary reports indicate that driving at high speed, driving unlicenced vehicles and driving unroadworthy vehicles have been major offences in the past four days. 1 393 drivers were issued notices for not fastening seatbelts and 926 were driving vehicles with worn tyres,” said RTMC in a statement.

RTMC added that motorists should at all times drive with extreme caution.
The corporation further urged members of the public to report any hazard they see on the roads by calling 0861 400 800.
