Armed robbers strike at Glen Anil home

Four suspects stormed the home on Friday afternoon.

THERE has been another armed robbery in the north Durban area, this time in Glen Anil. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, four armed men stormed a home on Umfomoti Lane.

“The armed suspects stole a safe containing jewellery. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident,” he said.

The robbery comes hours after a Glenashley resident was pistol whipped by armed men. Blue Security’s Andreas Mathios, said the woman was in the shower when she heard thumping on the front door of her Burne Crescent home at around 7pm.

“A gang of three robbers derailed the driveway gate, smashed in the front door of the house and went to the bathroom where they forced the woman out of the shower, and hit her across the face with the butt of a firearm.”

“They dragged her around the house, demanding that she show them where any valuables are kept. The gang ripped her wedding rings and jewellery from her and ransacked the property. They fled in a getaway vehicle with cash, two handbags, cell phones and a television,” Mathios said.
