Greenwood Park honour fallen officers

Dignitaries from the community together with senior management from Greenwood Park SAPS united at the commemorative service.

GREENWOOD Park Police held a memorial service to honour four officers from the station who died last year. Fallen heroes, Detective Warrant Officer Niranjan Inder, Warrant Officer, Mbongisani Zuma, CAC Samukelisiwe Xulu and Detective Constable, Nigel Reddy were honoured for their dedication and unwavering commitment to combat crime.

Dignitaries from the community together with senior management from Greenwood Park SAP as well as members from the Greenwood Park CPF (Brian Daish) andmembers of the Durban North/Umhlanga Crisis Team (DNUCT) together with family members of the fallen heroes united at the commemorative service.

Greenwood Park station commander, Colonel Mbongeni Mngadi paid tribute to the fallen heroes and honoured them for their dedication to the community and the organisation.

To honour the officers, a memorial plaque was unveiled by Colonel Mngadi with the names of the officers etched onto the memorial plaque. Wreaths were thereafter laid by family members and management.

“To the families who have lost loved ones, know that we stand with you. I want the families that we recognise the officers as part of our family and they will therefore be sorely missed, but never forgotten. I’ve said this to the family, the station’s door is always opened to them should they need any help,” he said.
