THE Clarendon Road Neighbourhood Watch has encouraged residents from Durban North to join them as they honour the memory of Siam Lee on Sunday.
Lee, who was brutally murdered, went missing from her place of work on Margaret Maytom Avenue more than a month ago. Her charred remains were discovered a few days later after she was reported missing by a farmer in New Hanover in the KZN Midlands.
Denise Masson of the watch said they would be dropping off flowers and lighting candles outside the property on Margaret Maytom which was allegedly operating as a brothel.

“We are urging residents to join us from 10am tomorrow to drop off flowers, bring teddies and light candles outside the house in Margaret Maytom Avenue in support of Siam who was kidnapped and murdered from that house. We need to stand together as a community and show that we care for this beautiful young lady that was taken from us in such a brutal manner,” she said.
The man arrested in connection with her murder appeared at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday. State prosecutor, Surekha Marimuthu said charges of kidnapping, rape, robbery with aggravating circumstances, pointing of firearm, crimen injuria, assault with intimidation and assault with intent to do bodily harm were brought against the Assagay resident.
This brings the number of charges faced by the accused to 16.
At his court appearance two weeks ago, the 29-year-old, who cannot be named due to the rape charge, alleged he had been subjected to harassment and had been tortured and assaulted by Durban North police.
