AN 81-YEAR-OLD man was pistol whipped by armed men in a home invasion on Edgeley Road on Thursday afternoon. According to Greenwood Park police, the incident occurred just after midday.
Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, who tended to the victim said the armed men forced the driveway gates of the home open by using their car as a battering ram.
“The homeowner, who was present at the time, was assaulted by an armed suspect, before being held at gunpoint while the men ransacked his home making off with a flat-screen television and other undisclosed items. The men fled the scene in an awaiting getaway vehicle. Crisis Medical Paramedics assessed the victim on site, however, he declined further hospital treatment,” he said.
A case has been opened at the Greenwood Park police station.
The incident comes a day after an couple in their 80s were attacked in their home on Lynton Place in an attempted home invasion.
