KWAZULU-Natal police have urged residents to allow the investigation into the death of Durban North resident, Siam Lee to take its course. The 20-year-old’s burnt body was allegedly discovered near a farm in New Hanover in the KZN Midlands over the weekend. Lee had been missing since 4 January and was last seen leaving her workplace at about 3pm on Margaret Maytom last Thursday.
Lt Col Thulani Zwane, spokesman for provincial SAPS who spoke to Northglen News this morning said no arrests had yet been made.
“We are still trying to determine if the body found in New Hanover is that of Siam Lee. We are awaiting DNA results but there has been no leads so far and no one has come forward as yet. I urge residents to allow justice to take its course,” he said.

Carol van Tonder of the Durban North/Umhlanga Crisis Team (DNUCT) said they would continue working with the family.
“Members of the DNUCT SAPS victim support have worked tirelessly with police and the family offering support. We are deeply saddened and will continue to support the family and police,” she said.
According to media reports, a family relative identified the body on Thursday this week.
An identikit of the man police believe could help with information on Lee was also released.
“The man in the attached identikit allegedly left with Siam in a black Mercedes Benz Vito/ V-class with unknown GP registration numbers. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact me on 083 632 2849 or 031 560 8004. Our Crime Stop number can also be contacted on 08600 10 111,” said Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS.
