Another armed robbery rocks Durban North

The gang involved are considered armed and dangerous.

A SIX-MAN gang believed to be behind several robberies in the Durban area have struck again, this time in Durban North. The armed gang stormed a home on Gleneagles Drive on Thursday afternoon using a similar modus operandi to the one used in an armed robbery on Herrwood Drive where a domestic worker was assaulted.

According to Kyle van Reenen, of Marshall Security, the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

“The suspects then forced their way into the home and stole several items including laptops and a safe containing an undisclosed amount of items. They then fled the scene in a high-end vehicle that matched the description to the one used in an armed robbery in uMhlanga on Tuesday,” he said.

On Wednesday, a shootout at a service station on Chris Hani Road (North Coast) led to the arrest of four suspects, one of whom was wounded in the leg in the exchange. The suspects were found with a police radio and several firearms and had been involved in a house break-in in Sunningdale.
