Two arrested for Durban North break-in

The men were spotted with a wooden door and security gate stolen from the home.

TWO suspects have been arrested following a house breaking in Margaret Maytom Avenue. The break-in occurred just after 3pm on Friday afternoon confirmed Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen. Since November last year there has been more than 12 break-ins in the north Durban area.

“Our reaction officers spotted the men fleeing down Ryde Place in possession of a wooden door and security gate removed from a property in the area. The suspects were arrested on site and handed over to the Greenwood Park police. The property was confirmed by the home owner to have been removed from his premises,” van Reenen said.

The spike in crime has also alarmed Durban North ward councillor, Shaun Ryley who said there had also been a number of armed robberies in the last four months.

Police have also urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour.
