Armed men storm Glen Anil business

The business robbery comes hours after two home invasions in the Durban North and Glenashley areas.

FIVE men stormed a business on Glen Anil Street early on Friday morning in an armed robbery. The incident occurred at about 9am. According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the store manager was assaulted in the robbery.

“Information from the scene indicates that five armed suspects stormed the business, demanding cellphones and cash. The store manager was assaulted with the butt of a firearm by one of the suspects as they made off in an awaiting getaway vehicle. Crisis Medical paramedics attended to the injured man, who was stabilised on scene and later refused to be transported to hospital. An extensive search of the area was conducted, however the suspects remain at large,” he said.

The business robbery comes hours after two home invasions in the Durban North and Glenashley areas.

The incidents took place on Doreen Crescent in Glenashley and Grosvenor Crescent in Durban North. There have been 12 armed house robberies in recent months in the north Durban area.
