Woman injured in Armstrong Avenue accident

The accident occurred at the Armstrong Avenue traffic circle intersection.

A 30-YEAR-OLD woman was injured in an accident at the corner of Armstrong Avenue and Umhlanga Rocks Drive on Wednesday morning. According to Shawn Herbst of Netcare 911, the patient was treated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a 30-year-old woman had been crossing the road when she was knocked down by a vehicle. The woman sustained a head injury with multiple lacerations. She was treated on scene and transported by Netcare 911 to hospital for further assessment and care,” he said.

The accident occurred at about 7.50am.

It has been a relatively quiet week in north Durban with the only other accident occurring on Lagoon Drive on Saturday night.

 

“Reports from the scene indicate that a vehicle travelling north bound on Lagoon Drive hit a 25 year old female pedestrian, seriously injuring her. It was said that an altercation had then broken out between the two parties and in the ensuing chaos it was alleged that a group of men who had witnessed the event proceeded to assault occupants of the vehicle injuring a 46 year old female. Both patients were treated on scene by paramedics and transported to hospital for further care and assessment,” he said.
