Bryan Adams surprises Durban North fans

The local duo were given the VIP treatment at the Durban concert after making the rockstar a vegan tart.

TWO local residents had the surprise of their lives on Tuesday after being given tickets to the Bryan Adams concert at the ICC in Durban. Bianca Harper and Andie-Robyn Thomas were given the VIP treatment after making a vegan tart for the Canadian born singer just hours before the concert was due to start.

What’s more, the local duo who work at Valeo plant based Food Bar at the Health on Broadway store, were invited backstage to hang-out with Adams after the show.

“We got a call from Bryan’s caterer on Monday afternoon asking what cakes we have to offer as he was looking for a vegan cake. We managed to make a raw salted caramel vegan tart which was delivered to him the day of the morning of the concert,” she said.

“The call to invite us to the show was so unexpected. The caterer said Bryan loved the cake and offered us VIP tickets to the show which was awesome. Both Andie and I are huge fans so just being there was an amazing experience. After the show though, he invited us to his dressing room which was incredible. We got to chat and enjoy some ice-cream with him, it was just so chilled,” she said.

A day after the concert, Adams messaged the shop’s Instagram page for the recipe of the tart.

“It was such a surreal experience hanging out and meeting Bryan. Not only did he love the tart but he was also the nicest guy and being able to share the recipe with him was just a pleasure.”
