Suspects rob uMhlanga Ridge betting store

DURBAN North SAPS are looking for two men involved in the robbery of a betting shop in uMhlanga Ridge on Monday morning. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North police station, the incident occurred at about 7am.

“The men pretended to be patrons of the store and showed up at the entrance while the manager was opening the store. The men then forced the man into the store and tied him up with telephone chords. They threatened the victim before forcing open the safe. The men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot,” he said.

No arrests have yet been made.

Deokaran added the suspects were not armed.
